Common Questions
You bet. Watch any golf tournament. Pros are always removing their gloves and airing them out after every shot (minus Fred Couples and Lucas Glover). Our hands are the only thing connected to the club and ensuring consistent and appropriate grip pressure is critical to more consistent contact and better clubhead speed. Think of your glove just like the tread on a tire.
We used to do that as well. The problem we found is that it really doesn’t create enough air flow to do much good and it is a royal pain to constantly take on and off. Drydots are much more effective at airing your gloves out and they are way more efficient allowing you to quickly take your glove on and off between shots or holes.
Yes. They have been tested at speeds over 70 mph. We got a lot of interesting looks from people while flying down the highway with a bunch of golf gloves attached to the side of our car all in the name of science. The key to using them is to place them on the OUTSIDE edge of the cart's metal bar as they are designed to hold your glove laterally against the wind, yet remain easy to pull or peel off. We do not recommend placing them inside the cart facing you as the wind will work to push your glove away from the surface.
It is VERY strong and has a high grade neodymium magnet combined with a unique surface area that creates significant hold. In our extensive testing with users, the only time we observed any issues was when they attempted pull their gloves off from the side causing the magnet to occasionally slide. If you pull or peel your glove directly away from the Drydot the magnet will stay put.
We did a lot of testing and trial and error to find the right form factor, magnetic strength and surface grip/pull force so that your glove always stays secure yet remains quick and easy to place and pull off. We believe it is the fastest and most effective method there is for keeping your glove fresh and dry while playing.
Quite a long time. While the high grip surface will eventually wear down, they have been tested up to 5000 pulls (placing and removing the glove). That should equate to roughly 100 or more 18-hole rounds of golf for most golfers. Please note that how they are stored can impact their longevity i.e., left in the car.
Friendly Tip - we recommend not keeping your clubs in your car as both extreme cold and heat can damage grips, the epoxy holding your club heads, etc. We made this mistake a couple times ourselves.
Yep! Because of the magnetic strength of Drydots, you can attach them to the face of any golf club. We typically attach it to that low iron we can’t hit worth a %$#^ and rarely use. While not as impactful as when placed on a cart, you still get notable benefit from it.
Absolutely. We designed Drydots to be customized. While we have an assortment of pre-made styles to choose from on our website, you can literally put anything on them - a company logo, tournament logo, golf course logo, picture, etc. Please note there are minimum quantities for custom orders.
